Capital Law Partners LLP was founded in 2016. Although we are a new firm, our team has specialist industry knowledge and experience in providing high quality legal advice. We pride ourselves on delivering clear, practical and innovative solutions to both individual and corporate clients.

PATRICK MC DERMOTT

 

Patrick is the firm’s corporate / commercial partner. Patrick trained with a top 6 law firm and qualified as a solicitor in 2008. Patrick works with Irish and international clients across a variety of industry sectors including: energy, real estate, construction, aviation, retail, technology, and professional services.

Patrick is a well-respected lawyer who draws on his industry and legal experience and who adopts a very commercial approach in advising his clients. Patrick is considered to be a commercially astute lawyer who is approachable, reliable and solution focused.

As a corporate / commercial law specialist, Patrick advises on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters and transactions including M&A work, business purchases and sales and advising on company insolvencies and restructures. Patrick also advises on asset financing and general corporate borrowings.

Patrick has also advised on both sides of venture capital transactions, private equity transactions, restructurings and fundraisings. He also has experience in corporate governance including advising company directors and members in relation to governance, disputes and general corporate matters.

Statutory Notice

Capital Law Partners was authorised to operate as a limited liability partnership (“LLP”) with effect from 16 March 2020.

Under Section 123 of the Legal Services Regulation Act 2015, from this date, no partner in Capital Law Partners has personal liability for any debts, liabilities or obligations which are incurred for the purpose of carrying on the business of the firm. This, however, relates only to the personal liability of partners, and does not prevent or restrict the enforcement against the property of Capital Law Partners of any debt, liability or obligation.

The Partnership Act 1890 continues to apply to Capital Law Partners to the extent that it is not inconsistent with Chapter 3 of Part 8 of the Legal Services Regulation Act 2015.
