Capital Law Partners LLP was founded in 2016. Although we are a new firm, our team has specialist industry knowledge and experience in providing high quality legal advice. We pride ourselves on delivering clear, practical and innovative solutions to both individual and corporate clients.

IAN BELL

 

Ian is a Partner in Capital Law Partners LLP and specialises in commercial litigation, banking and insolvency. Ian principally acts for clients in the financial services, technology, telecommunications and corporate sectors.

Ian has in-depth experience in commercial dispute matters. He has acted and advised on lending disputes, appeals from the Financial Services Ombudsman, shareholder and investment disputes, defamation, product liability, professional negligence litigation, judicial review, landlord and tenant disputes, tax litigation and the infringement of intellectual property rights.

Ian acts for banks in loan and asset recovery matters and the enforcement of judgments, including the appointment of equitable receivers, possessions and bankruptcy.  He has also acted for and advised banks in the defence of proceedings issued against them, including proceedings issued in lending disputes and following the appointment or intended appointment of receivers. He has also acted for and advised receivers in the exercise of their powers and entitlements.

Ian advises on lending, credit agreements, security and debt restructuring.  He also advises in relation to insolvency and corporate recovery matters and has acted for and advised appointed liquidators and receivers. He has acted for companies in applications seeking the appointment of an examiner.

Ian is a mediator and is a Certified Member of the Mediators’ Institute of Ireland. He is admitted as a solicitor in Ireland and Australia.

Statutory Notice

Capital Law Partners was authorised to operate as a limited liability partnership (“LLP”) with effect from 16 March 2020.

Under Section 123 of the Legal Services Regulation Act 2015, from this date, no partner in Capital Law Partners has personal liability for any debts, liabilities or obligations which are incurred for the purpose of carrying on the business of the firm. This, however, relates only to the personal liability of partners, and does not prevent or restrict the enforcement against the property of Capital Law Partners of any debt, liability or obligation.

The Partnership Act 1890 continues to apply to Capital Law Partners to the extent that it is not inconsistent with Chapter 3 of Part 8 of the Legal Services Regulation Act 2015.
